Complete care for the brain, spine and nerves
Neurology, neurosurgery and spine surgery, supported by orthopaedics, joint replacement and rheumatology — all in one hospital.
Neurology
The Department of Neurology offers diagnosis and treatment for diseases of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system. Recent advances in understanding the brain have brought new ways to diagnose neurological disease, new treatments for conditions once considered untreatable, and better management of stroke, dementia, epilepsy, Parkinson's, ALS, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's, Tourette's syndrome and neuromuscular diseases.

- Stroke (arterial and venous)
- Epilepsy (seizures, fits)
- Neuropathy
- Myopathies
- Guillain-Barré syndrome (AIDP)
- Dementia and memory loss
- Degenerative brain diseases (PSP, NPH, MSA)
- Parkinson's disease
- Movement disorders, including cerebral palsy
- Myasthenia gravis
- Neuro infections (meningitis, encephalitis)
- Demyelinating disorders (multiple sclerosis, NMO)
- Pregnancy-related neurological disorders (eclampsia, PRES, hyponatraemia)
- Autoimmune disorders
- Paraneoplastic disorders

Neurosurgery
Our neurosurgeons bring deep experience in cerebrovascular, functional, neuro-oncology, paediatric, peripheral nerve and trauma surgery. We run one of the busiest neurosurgical practices in Hyderabad, operating on around sixty patients a month, with in-patient and out-patient services round the clock.
Minimally invasive cranial and spinal surgery is routine, as are transsphenoidal and transnasal procedures.
Recognise a stroke. Think FAST.
Time is brain. A brain injury doesn't always show and doesn't heal like a broken arm — come to hospital quickly.
Spine Surgery
Our experienced team of neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons evaluates and treats spinal disorders together. SKS is one of very few hospitals in the world where both specialties manage spinal disorders as one team.

Bones, joints & rheumatology
Combined with our neuro teams, these departments make SKS a complete polytrauma centre.
Orthopaedics
Orthopaedics covers the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system — the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves that let you move, work and stay active.
Once focused on children with spine and limb deformities, orthopaedics now cares for patients of every age: newborns with clubfoot, young athletes needing arthroscopic surgery, and older adults with arthritis.
Joint Replacement
Joint replacement removes a damaged joint — such as the knee, hip or shoulder — and replaces it with a new one. The surgery is done by an orthopaedic surgeon. Sometimes only the damaged parts of the joint are replaced or repaired rather than the whole joint.
Rheumatology
Rheumatic diseases cause inflammation, swelling and pain in the joints or muscles. Some, like osteoarthritis, result from wear and tear. Others, like rheumatoid arthritis, happen when the immune system attacks the lining of the joints, causing pain, swelling and damage. Almost any joint can be affected.
